Take some time to reflect on the ideas and practices we've explored in this module. Use these prompts to connect the concepts to your own life, identify your strengths, and plan for action. Remember, there are no right or wrong answers. This is about self-discovery and empowerment.
Identifying Your Strengths and Resources:
What are your skills, talents, passions, and resources? (Consider both tangible and intangible assets – e.g., writing skills, artistic abilities, empathy, connections to community, financial resources, time).
How can you use these strengths and resources to contribute to building a better world, in your own unique way?
What are you already doing that contributes to positive change?
Taking Action:
What is one concrete action you can take this week to challenge oppression, support a marginalized group, or contribute to building a more just and equitable world?
What support do you need to take this action? Who can you ask for help or collaboration?
What obstacles might you encounter? How can you overcome them?
Learning from Experience:
Reflect on a time when you witnessed someone being treated unfairly, discriminated against, or subjected to hate speech. How did you respond in that situation? How do you feel about your response now?
Knowing what you know now, how could you respond differently in a similar situation in the future? (Consider the strategies discussed in this module, such as bystander intervention, calling in/calling out, and allyship/accompliceship).
Reflect on a time when you might have unintentionally said or done something that was harmful to someone else. What did you learn from that experience?
Visioning and Hope:
What does the 'Beloved Community' (or a just and equitable world) mean to you? Describe your vision in detail. What would it look like, feel like, sound like?
What are some small steps you can take to help create that vision in your own life and community?
What gives you hope for the future? What inspires you to keep working for change?
Self and Community Care
What does self-care look like to you this week?
How can you support others this week?
